OUR SERVICES

INTEGRATED TREATMENT FOR THE WHOLE PERSON

Individual and Group COUNSELING

We are committed to providing individualized treatment based on field-recognized and research-supported practices. Services are based on a collaborative planning process rooted in mutual respect. Each person served defines their unique goals and works with our interdisciplinary team to progress in their own recovery. Our environment offers respect, safety and comfort as well as expertise in the change process. Individual and group counseling sessions are tailored to each individual’s care plan. Flexible hours are available to ensure access to services.

MEDICATIONS FOR SUBSTANCE USE DISORDER

For many individuals, medication is a component of  their recovery plan to help reduce cravings and withdrawal symptoms, supporting a cessation of use. At the right dose and with psychosocial intervention such as counseling and peer services, medications for Substance Use Disorder support a whole-person approach to treatment, recovery, and wellness.

VICTA offers all FDA-approved medications for the treatment of Opioid Use Disorder. These medications can be prescribed for a period of years to help stabilize and support the person making changes in other life areas. Opioid Treatment Providers (OTPs) like VICTA are able to dispense these medications on-site, and are provided based on the individual treatment plan subject to state and federal regulations

Buprenorphine is the first medication to treat opioid dependency that is permitted to be prescribed or dispensed in physician offices, significantly increasing treatment access. Buprenorphine is prescribed as part of a comprehensive treatment plan that includes counseling and participation in social support programs. VICTA offers the full range of buprenorphine products, including tablets, films, and long-acting injections.

Naltrexone is a medication used to treat both opioid and alcohol use disorders. The injectable extended-release form of the drug (Vivitrol) is administered via intramuscular injection once a month.

INTENSIVE OUTPATIENT PROGRAM (IOP)

Our Intensive Outpatient Program consists of a scheduled series of group sessions appropriate to the person-centered plans of the persons served. VICTA offers daytime, afternon and evening IOP services to accommodate a range of schedules.

IOP includes nine (9) hours per week of group counseling and one (1) hour per week of individual counseling. Participants have access to the full scope of services offered by VICTA, such as psychiatric medication, medications for Substance Use Disorder, and ambulatory medical care. The length of stay is based on an individual’s treatment plan and progress, and averages 4-6 weeks.

The program may function as a ‘step-down’ program for individuals transitioning from partial hospitalization, detoxification/withdrawal support, or residential services. It is also appropriate for those who have struggled with recurrence of use or an increase in symptoms during outpatient treatment and who could benefit from more intensive services.

INTEGRATED DUAL DIAGNOSIS TREATMENT

VICTA INTEGRATED DUAL DIAGNOSIS TREATMENT

Many people living with both Substance Use Disorder and mental illness may ask themselves ‘what came first’? At VICTA, we recognize that treating both conditions in an integrated manner is the most effective approach to care. For people who have been living with mood instability, periods of hopelessness, extreme sadness, suicidal thoughts, flashbacks to traumatic events, or other disturbing symptoms, substance use may have initially helped mask or manage the symptoms. In time, however, substance use may worsen mental illness and become a vicious cycle – but that cycle can be broken!

Getting your life back on track requires help, hope, and trust. We understand how difficult it can be to extend your trust to others, especially if you have not had providers who understand Substance Use Disorder. Our treatment team members are highly knowledgeable and have extensive experience in treating individuals with co-occurring disorders.

Our outpatient mental health program offers an array of behavioral health services. Persons served can participate in individual, group, or family psychotherapy. Most of our clinical providers are licensed to provide both substance use and mental health treatment, ensuring a fully integrated service experience.

For those who might benefit from psychiatric medication as part of their recovery, our prescribers are available to support them through evaluation and medication management.

ambulatory CARE SERVICES

Successful recovery from an addiction requires a comprehensive approach to physical, social, psychological, and spiritual wellbeing. The mind-body connection needs to be repaired for a person to achieve maximum health.
Finding medical care that is non-judgmental and non- discriminatory towards individuals with substance use disorder can be a challenge and a barrier to a healthy lifestyle and road to full recovery. Past negative experiences perpetuate harm and can lead to avoidance of both routine and urgent medical services.
This often leads to people not treating significant physical health conditions or avoiding certain aspects of their history to medical providers. In turn, these individuals may continue experiencing poor physical health, mixing medication that creates dangerous interactions, and not achieving optimal recovery.
Because we have consistently heard these issues, we wanted to respond to the needs by offering medical care on-site at VICTA. Ambulatory care services include general episodic care, infectious disease screening and treatment or referral, wound care, contraceptive care, and more. In August 2023, VICTA added gynecological services to meet the needs of individuals who may have avoided routine care due to trauma history or previously identified barriers.
