We are committed to providing individualized treatment based on field-recognized and research-supported practices. Services are based on a collaborative planning process rooted in mutual respect. Each person served defines their unique goals and works with our interdisciplinary team to progress in their own recovery. Our environment offers respect, safety and comfort as well as expertise in the change process. Individual and group counseling sessions are tailored to each individual’s care plan. Flexible hours are available to ensure access to services.
For many individuals, medication is a component of their recovery plan to help reduce cravings and withdrawal symptoms, supporting a cessation of use. At the right dose and with psychosocial intervention such as counseling and peer services, medications for Substance Use Disorder support a whole-person approach to treatment, recovery, and wellness.
VICTA offers all FDA-approved medications for the treatment of Opioid Use Disorder. These medications can be prescribed for a period of years to help stabilize and support the person making changes in other life areas. Opioid Treatment Providers (OTPs) like VICTA are able to dispense these medications on-site, and are provided based on the individual treatment plan subject to state and federal regulations
Naltrexone is a medication used to treat both opioid and alcohol use disorders. The injectable extended-release form of the drug (Vivitrol) is administered via intramuscular injection once a month.
Our Intensive Outpatient Program consists of a scheduled series of group sessions appropriate to the person-centered plans of the persons served. VICTA offers daytime, afternon and evening IOP services to accommodate a range of schedules.
IOP includes nine (9) hours per week of group counseling and one (1) hour per week of individual counseling. Participants have access to the full scope of services offered by VICTA, such as psychiatric medication, medications for Substance Use Disorder, and ambulatory medical care. The length of stay is based on an individual’s treatment plan and progress, and averages 4-6 weeks.
The program may function as a ‘step-down’ program for individuals transitioning from partial hospitalization, detoxification/withdrawal support, or residential services. It is also appropriate for those who have struggled with recurrence of use or an increase in symptoms during outpatient treatment and who could benefit from more intensive services.
Many people living with both Substance Use Disorder and mental illness may ask themselves ‘what came first’? At VICTA, we recognize that treating both conditions in an integrated manner is the most effective approach to care. For people who have been living with mood instability, periods of hopelessness, extreme sadness, suicidal thoughts, flashbacks to traumatic events, or other disturbing symptoms, substance use may have initially helped mask or manage the symptoms. In time, however, substance use may worsen mental illness and become a vicious cycle – but that cycle can be broken!
Getting your life back on track requires help, hope, and trust. We understand how difficult it can be to extend your trust to others, especially if you have not had providers who understand Substance Use Disorder. Our treatment team members are highly knowledgeable and have extensive experience in treating individuals with co-occurring disorders.
Our outpatient mental health program offers an array of behavioral health services. Persons served can participate in individual, group, or family psychotherapy. Most of our clinical providers are licensed to provide both substance use and mental health treatment, ensuring a fully integrated service experience.
For those who might benefit from psychiatric medication as part of their recovery, our prescribers are available to support them through evaluation and medication management.
